ADHD Assessments
Looking for a Child/Youth or Adult ADHD Assessment but you're not sure where to start? We've got you.

Our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Stacy Recalla, is now offering Diagnostic Assessments in Ontario that will clarify your experiences and symptoms, consider masking and diagnostic criteria, and provide you with professional evaluation and feedback without the traditional lengthy assessment process. We cannot see patients from other provinces at this time.
Let's Start
How long does an ADHD Assessment take?
At our clinic, ADHD Assessments take one hour of one-to-one time with our Nurse Practitioner, but require pre-assessment measures and information gathering our formal appointment.
Do I need a referral to get an ADHD Assessment?
No! The beauty of our Assessments is that you don't need a referral from a doctor or other allied health practitioner, but we are happy to share results with your care team should you see fit! Please note: not everyone is a candidate for a virtual ADHD Assessment, and we may ask you questions to ensure that we can safely meet your needs.
What should I expect from the ADHD Assessment process?
The process includes first contact with our client care coordination team to ask you a few questions, and then a comprehensive assessment (pre-screening for past and present medical history, questionnaires, an opportunity to put your experience into words) before your formal appointment with the Nurse Practitioner.
What happens if I am diagnosed with ADHD?
If you are diagnosed with ADHD, our Nurse Practitioner will discuss treatment options which may include lifestyle adjustments, medication, educational support, therapy and/or medication. A comprehensive treatment plan will be tailored to your needs and preferences.
Can you help with school or work accommodations?
Yes, we are able to provide documentation and recommendations for accommodations that may improve your functioning at work or school.
How often will I need to follow up after my diagnosis?
How often you follow-up will depend on your treatment plan and needs. Initially, follow-up appointments might be more frequent to monitor progress and adjust medication, but can later be for maintenance purposes only.
Do you offer ADHD therapy at your clinic?
We do! We support individuals and couples with ADHD and our clinicians aim to take a neuro-inclusive and trauma-informed approach to doing so. Our clinicians focus on on-going education, have taken part in modules or have full certification in the ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP) training, or may have lived experience with being Neurodivergent themselves. You will always be welcome to start with a free therapy consultation with one or more clinicians to see who might be your best fit.
What if I don't get the ADHD Diagnosis I'm curious about?
If your assessment results do not indicate an ADHD diagnosis, it's important to understand that our primary goal is to ensure you receive an accurate evaluation of your symptoms and concerns. Not receiving an ADHD diagnosis does not mean that your challenges are not real or significant. Our Nurse Practitioner will discuss alternative explanations for your symptoms and may explore other possible conditions that could be contributing to your difficulties, such as anxiety, depression, learning disabilities, or other neurodevelopmental disorders. We will work with you to develop a personalized plan to address your needs, which may include referrals to other specialists, counselling, or strategies to manage your symptoms. Your well-being is our top priority, and we are committed to supporting you in finding the right path forward.
Can I get ADHD medication without an Assessment first?
We can provide medication management if you have a Formal Diagnosis from a licensed Canadian Family Doctor, Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatrist or Psychologist, and have supporting documentation. If you do not yet have a diagnosis, we cannot provide medication without a formal assessment and ADHD diagnosis.
Will my insurance cover this?
Your insurance benefits will be unique to you, and we therefore ask that you enquire with them to see if they would cover a Nurse Practitioner Service. We have had clients' insurance cover this service in the past, and are also able to provide predetermination documentation as requested. This is not an OHIP covered service.
